The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office is actively searching for Kyaw Thar, a 51-year-old man who was reported missing in the Spring Park area. Thar was last seen leaving his home in the 2700 block of Spring Park Road around 7 p.m. last night. According to a report from First Coast News, his disappearance sparked a police search after family members reported him missing around 10:50 that evening.
According to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office, Thar suffers from a medical condition that causes severe memory loss, making the search even more urgent. He is 5 feet 5 inches tall, weighs about 100 pounds, and is identified by the fact that he is missing four fingers on his right hand. On the day of his disappearance he was wearing a red shirt and dark trousers. The sheriff's office has issued a public safety alert and asked residents to help check cameras, vehicles and property that could help find Mr. Thar. Law enforcement's concern is palpable, with a spokesperson stating, “Investigators continue to work diligently on this case. However, due to Mr Thar's severe memory loss due to illness, we are requesting assistance in ensuring his safety.” Community engagement is seen as crucial to efforts to safely recover Mr Thar.
