The lawsuit against Hunter Biden could also include his ex-wife's child support lawsuit

WASHINGTON – The upcoming criminal trials of the president's son Hunter Biden could reveal unpleasant details of another legal problem: A civil lawsuit alleges that he owes his ex-wife Kathleen Buhle more than $1.7 million in unpaid child support.

“Buhle is likely to testify about Hunter's drug use and finances in two upcoming gun and tax trials that will take place in the final months of his father's re-election campaign,” Axios reported.

The trial of President Joe Biden's son on a federal weapons charge is scheduled to begin Monday in Delaware; the tax trial is scheduled to begin September 5 in California.

Republicans and other Biden opponents are playing up Hunter Biden's legal troubles, especially in light of the conviction of former President and 2024 candidate Donald Trump for hush money.

As for the child support case, Axios obtained court documents that show:

∎“On January 29, 2021 – shortly after President Biden’s inauguration and after a year and a half of legal wrangling – a Washington DC court found that Hunter had breached his divorce agreement and owed Buhle more than $1.7 million in spousal support, legal fees and interest since their divorce in 2017.”

∎Hunter Biden’s lawyers “argued that he wanted to pay Buhle but no longer had the money after his descent into drug addiction,” Axios reported.
