PARK CITY, Utah – To improve the reliability and safety of school transportation, the Park City School District has implemented a new GPS tracking system for its bus fleet. This development is a direct response to parents' concerns about bus delays, particularly during the harsh winter months. Parents can create an account on MyView using school code PAR1269 and their child's student ID number.
The district had a similar system in the past, but it was out of service during the COVID-19 pandemic due to the original company's closure. As a solution, the district partnered with MyView, which allows parents to track the location of school buses in real time.
Lisa Getson, a PCSD parent, emphasized the practicality of the system. Before the previous app was shut down, Getson said, “It was particularly useful to know if the bus was on time on winter mornings.”
