The defendant, Dinesh Dumak in police custody, woman suffers minor injuries
In a terrible incident on Saturday, a Dinesh Dumak attempted an acid attack on his wife on suspicion of infidelity. His wife suffered minor injuries to her left eye and arm in the incident. She immediately filed a case against him at the Kondhwa Police Station, and Dumak was duly arrested.
According to police, Dumak’s wife works as a housekeeper in the Bavdhan area and in many places in Kondhwa. Dumak had doubts that she was having a love affair in any of the places she works. He questioned her about the same thing and after her refusal took her to Bopdev Ghat, where he tried to throw acid on her face.
The case is being investigated by the Chaitali Gapat Police Sub-Inspector at Kondhwa Police Station, and Dumak was held in police custody for a day.
“The complainant and the defendant are originally from Konkan and have been married for two years. The defendant repairs the water filter in a private company while the victim does the housework. The defendant, suspicious of his wife’s character, forced her to show him all the places she works. However, she refused, the defendant attempted the acid attack. Dumak has been booked under IPC Sections 226 (A), 506 and further investigations are ongoing, ”added PSI Gapat.
