Bengaluru: In another chilling incident reported from Karnataka’s Bengaluru, a 37-year-old woman was strangled with a belt by her 38-year-old husband during the night between Monday and Tuesday. The accused, a taxi driver, reportedly committed the crime in the presence of his 8-year-old daughter at his home in Kalappa Layout near HAL.
The defendant, identified as Neelakantha, suspected his wife Nagamma, 37, of infidelity and the couple often had arguments over it, according to sources.
Also, it was on Monday around 8 p.m. that the victim informed her sister about the argument with her husband. Meanwhile, the defendant told his wife that she should die to make way for his second marriage. After learning about the altercation, Parvati asked the victim’s sister to keep quiet until morning and assured her that she would visit her to sort out the differences, according to the report published by the Times of India.
Shockingly, at around 2:30 a.m., Nagamma’s daughter called Parvati to tell her that her mother had been killed. After the murder, police officers were alerted to the heinous crime and rushed to the scene.
Furthermore, after the gruesome act, Neelakantha went into hiding and was arrested on Wednesday with the help of technical intelligence agencies and whistleblowers.
