The search for a man who went missing in Cannon Falls on Monday continued into Tuesday and will continue Thursday.
Cannon Falls police said they learned at 8:11 p.m. Monday that a 60-year-old man had disappeared from the 300 block of Larkspur Lane. It was discovered that the man had been walking his dog in the woods.
Officers used footprints in the snow to find the path they believe he took through the area. However, due to the darkness and cold temperatures, they needed additional help.
Police said the man's trail was followed through the forest and along the river. However, she was unable to locate the 60-year-old and called off the search at 2:20 a.m. on Tuesday.
The search resumed at 9 a.m. Tuesday with additional resources, but was postponed later that evening due to darkness, high winds and falling temperatures.
According to an update from the Cannon Falls Police Department on Tuesday evening, officers will resume the search on Thursday and use Wednesday as a planning day.
Officials are asking people not to conduct their own searches, but say residents in areas near Cannon Falls should check all sheds and outbuildings.
The missing person has not been identified by police.
