The Tennessee Home spokesman requested the court docket to let him off the hook for little one assist

FRANKLIN, Tennessee – Outgoing House MP Glen Casada has asked a judge to release him from his ex-wife maintenance obligations, saying he no longer has the income to meet his obligations.

The motion blames Casada’s loss of job at Merck Pharma and raises questions about the Williamson County’s allegation that he voluntarily resigned from the position.

“On or about May 15, 2019, Mr. Casada lost his job at Merck, which was the main source of income, which was a significant and material change in circumstances,” said a motion filed on June 26 by Casada’s attorney Sarah Richter Perky was submitted.

“Given his advanced age and the circumstances of his unemployment, it is very unlikely that Mr Casada will be able to find similar employment.”

Casada’s split from Merck came amid the SMS scandal that was first exposed by NewsChannel 5 Investigates and eventually led to his decision to leave his spokesperson.

On May 17, The Tennessean quoted Holt Whitt, the director of legislation at Casada, confirming the spokesman’s departure from the pharmaceutical company.

“He didn’t feel like he could do both jobs, so he resigned,” Whitt told the newspaper.

The Tennesseer stated that Casada was employed as a veterinary drug seller and had been employed by Merck since 2012.

Under the terms of Casada’s divorce in September 2017, he was required to pay Jill Casada $ 4,000 a month in maintenance.

This week, Jill Casada’s attorney Rose Palermo urged the court to reject Glen Casada’s petition “for failure to follow due process”.

Court documents show that all Williamson County justices recently withdrew from hearing the dispute.
