Tioga Co. Sheriff uses dribble technology to find a missing man

Cancor, NY (WBNG) – On April 25, the MPs of Tioga County responded to a residence for a report on a missing person.

The 69-year-old man, who was described by the family as dementia, was not in his residence. The MPs checked the area on foot and could not locate the man.

A member of the Sheriff's Tioga County office was called to carry out an air search. With the DJI drone of the department, the deputy, who is a certified drone pilot, was about a fourth mile from the residence, the 69-year-old man, who is partly in a stream.

The drone pilot directed the MPs on the ground to the precise position of the missing man.

Candor Ems treated the patient on site and then transported him to a local hospital for further evaluation.
