Unagi Scooters has announced the allegedly first model Eleven smart scooter. It includes a number of fascinating features such as acoustic instructions, remote shutdown and a sensor for an advanced driver assistance system (ADAS).
You can play your own music or podcasts through the built-in Bluetooth speaker and hear turn-by-turn directions to help you reach your destination. Unagi has teamed up with Google to integrate navigation functionality into its iOS and Android app. After you have selected your destination and put your phone away, you will hear directional announcements through the audio system and see directional signals on the display.

On the security side, there is a motion sensor alarm to deter potential thieves, as well as GPS tracking. You can remotely kill a stolen scooter in the app.
Perhaps the most striking feature of the Model Eleven is the high-end version of the ADAS sensor. Unagi says the scooter can tell the difference between people, stop signs, traffic lights, cars and other objects. It can warn you of a possible collision via both the audio system and the touchscreen display.

Unagi commissioned the industrial designer Yves Béhar to develop the Model Eleven, which is the lightest full-suspension scooter on the market thanks to the use of long carbon fibers, among other things. The foldable scooter features Unagi’s existing dual motor system, a replaceable battery system, and, according to the company, puncture-proof tires that you can easily change if you need to.
The standard Eleven model costs $ 2,440. The ASAS model will cost you over $ 2,860. Unagi is initially offering pre-orders through an Indiegogo campaign (at a discounted price of $ 1,540 / $ 1,790), but with Best Buy now selling the company’s scooters, it wouldn’t be surprising to find the Model Eleven at retailers in the future.
