AGRA: A 48-year-old woman was allegedly beaten to death by her husband in UP’s Mainpuri district on Monday evening.
Sukhveer Yadav suspected that her wife was in a relationship with another man.
Mamta Yadav’s body was found in her home in the village of Rathera.
The couple had two sons.
While one of them died in 2012, the other killed himself in December 2020.
An FIR was registered against the defendant, who fled the house after the murder at Dannhar Police Station.
He’s a drunkard, said the police.
Preliminary examinations revealed that she was hit on the head with a stick.
Her body has been sent for an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death and an investigation is ongoing, police said.
Mainpuri Police Superintendent Avinash Pandey said a team was being formed to arrest the defendant.
