The mother of 20-year-old Tatyanna Harrison, an Indigenous woman who went missing in late April, is appealing for public help as Vancouver police say they have no solid leads in the case.
Harrison was last seen on April 22 at the Grand Union Pub on Abbott and Hastings Streets on Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside. She last spoke to her mother, Natasha, via text message on March 24.
However, the 20-year-old did not pick up her welfare check at the end of April. She was reported missing on May 3 and was not found nearly two months later.
Natasha Harrison said in a statement that she was “asking” the public to help her find her daughter.

“Tatyanna is a very strong and beautiful girl who is a voice for people who are suffering or people who aren’t,” she said.
“She’s articulate, she’s smart, she’s an avid reader, she’s fearless,” she added.

“It is uncharacteristic of Tatyanna not to have spoken to her friends and family for so long, who tell us that her failure to speak up is an indication that Tatyanna is in danger,” Cst said. Tania Visintin in a statement.
Natasha Harrison also paid tribute to the Downtown Eastside community, saying they were very supportive in her search for her daughter and helped put up missing person posters in the neighborhood.
Disappearance timeline
Harrison was in Surrey, BC until February 3, according to the VPD. From February 9 to February 22, she stayed at an animal shelter at 875 Terminal Avenue in Vancouver.
On March 23, Harrison visited the Royal Bank of Canada’s downtown Eastside branch to report a stolen card.
She was then given another card and was seen in the bank with an unidentified man who is described as being in his 30s or 40s with a slim build, a mustache and a stubble on his face. He was last seen in a two-tone dark jacket, dark hoodie, and dark beanie.

A day later, Tatyanna sent her mother Natasha a message from a new number – the last time Tatyanna’s mother heard from her daughter. Police say the message was sent from somewhere in downtown Eastside.
Following this news, Tatyanna was seen “numerously”, including at Robson Park on April 7 and at the Grand Union Pub on April 22.
