After the additional staff arrived, the search was extended to the area around the village.

A total of about 25 people were deployed to search, with a drone from the Search and Rescue Aerial Association, Scotland, on standby.

Fortunately, the teams found the missing man and determined that he had exceeded his goal before becoming disoriented in the remote area outside of Wanlockhead.

He was not injured after spending a night in the mountains, but he was very cold after his clothes were soaked in the nightly rain.
