Woman arrested for interfering with custody order

On Thursday, June 13, 2024, at approximately 3:00 p.m., officers with the Cape Coral Police Department responded to a residence in southeast Cape Coral for a report of a kidnapping in progress.

The incident notes noted that the children's biological mother, Angela Lynn Fults (born September 1, 1987), arrived at the scene, picked up the children, and then abruptly disappeared.

The children's father said he had a temporary court order that gave him sole responsibility and was able to provide the relevant documentation. He was also concerned because he believed Angela had mental health issues.

Officers responding to the call quickly found Angela and the children at a local mall in Cape Coral. All children were recovered unharmed. Angela was unable to give officers a clear answer as to why she had taken the children.

The children were returned to the care of their father. Angela Fults was arrested and charged with:

–1 count of violation of FSS 787.03, interference with custody, third degree felony

Arrested: Angela Lynn Fults (date of birth 01.09.1987)
