On Thursday, June 13, at approximately 3:00 p.m., Cape Coral Police officers responded to a report of a kidnapping in progress at a residence in southeast Cape Coral.
CCPD dispatch notes said the children's biological mother, Angela Lynn Fults, 37, arrived at the scene, picked up the children and then abruptly disappeared.
According to the police report, the children's father said he had a temporary court order that gave him sole responsibility and was able to provide the relevant documentation. He told officers he was concerned because he believed Fults had mental health issues.
Officers began searching parking lots near where Angela Fults was last found. An officer entered a business and quickly found the woman and children.
Police reported that all children were rescued unharmed.
Fults, police said, was unable to give officers a clear answer as to why she took the children with her.
The children were returned to the custody of their father. Fults was arrested and charged with one count of custody violation, a third-degree felony.
