A 55-year-old woman has been hospitalized after being attacked with a hammer by her ex-husband during a custody dispute over their son in Tin Shui Wai on Tuesday morning.
The fight took place around 7.30am today at an apartment in Kingswood Villas in Tin Shui Wai, as the woman, surnamed Yeung, and her ex-husband, 54, got into a heated argument over custody of their son. It is understood that the former couple lives separately.
The argument soon escalated into a fight, and the ex-husband attacked Yeung with a hammer and verbally threatened her before fleeing the scene.
Yeung sustained an injury to her hands. She then asked the building’s security guard for help and reported it to the police. She was later admitted to Tin Shui Wai Hospital while she was conscious.
Police introduced the case as an assault involving actual physical harm and criminal intimidation.
So far nobody has been arrested. The case is now being handled by the Yuen Long District Criminal Investigation Department.
