New Delhi: The trailer for Yami Gautam Dhar’s upcoming movie Lost was unveiled on Wednesday. It stars the actress playing a crime reporter tirelessly searching for the truth behind the sudden disappearance of a young theater activist, played by Tushar Pandey.
The film follows their search for the truth while a local politician, played by Rahul Khanna, continues to obstruct their findings.
Showing a struggle between what is right and ultimate truth, the trailer depicts a search for lost values such as empathy and integrity. The film also stars Pankaj Kapur, Neil Bhoopalam and Pia bajpiee.
Yami said, “I’m excited that the film will finally be released and that audiences will see a character that I care so much about, that fine line that cuts through the integrity of the media and of humanity.”
She continued, “The film represents a higher quest and a quest for lost values of empathy while raising the right questions. Those who have seen the film so far have had a very positive and overwhelming response to it, so I’m eagerly awaiting the release now to see how audiences enjoy the film.”
The film was directed by Pink’s Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury and screened at the 2022 Chicago South Asian Film Festival, 2022 Atlanta Indian Film Festival and the 53rd International Film Festival of India.
Pankaj Kapur said, “Lost” is a story about the struggles and repercussions that crime reporters go through. The portrayal of the role of a crime reporter’s grandfather was invigorating as it drew me closer to the story challenges they face it day after day. But the beauty of the character is the warmth and connection he shares with his granddaughter (played by Yami), becoming her source of constant strength and resilience.”
Produced by Zee Studios, Namah Pictures, Sam Fernandes and Indrani Mukherjee, the film will stream in Hindi on February 16 on ZEE5.
