Zachary PD finds GPS monitoring gadget in car, suspect is ex-boyfriend

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — An officer with the Zachary Police Department was asked to investigate a disturbance on Sunday, July 10.

The officer arrived at an undisclosed location in Spring Hollow Ct. on. around 5:45 a.m

The Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s assistance in locating a missing person, Adron Perry Chandler

The alleged victim in that case said that “her ex-boyfriend, Roger Frederick Shoemaker, 32, of Monroe, came to her apartment and banged on the front door and then left,” the affidavit reads.

This was the second time in eight hours that Shoemaker had attempted to contact the victim.

The affidavit states that the 32-year-old is accused at around 10:20 p.m. Saturday, July 9, of sending threatening messages to the victim.

A third and final call related to this case was received by the Zachary Police Department at approximately 7:30 am on July 10th.

“Officials received a follow-up call regarding a device that was located near the rear tire on the driver’s side of a vehicle,” the affidavit reads.

The device was later identified as a Mobile-200 4G GPS Tracker with Live Audio Monitoring.

According to the affidavit, Shoemaker allegedly “sent screen shots to the victim of their whereabouts.”

This GPS tracker with live audio capability was seized as evidence in this case.

Shoemaker was arrested on Thursday July 14 and taken to East Baton Rouge Parish Jail.

The 32-year-old is in charge of telephone communication; inappropriate language; Harassment, Prohibited Use of Tracking Devices, and Stalking.

The Monroe man remains behind bars and no bail has been set at this time.
