A heated argument over alleged infidelity ended in tragedy after a 26-year-old Harare woman hit her husband with a brick and then stabbed her with a kitchen knife.
Police confirmed the arrest of Fadzai Beatrice Chisanzu for the murder of her husband Innocent Antonyo, 34, in an incident on Sunday.
According to sources, Antonyo suspected that his wife was having an extramarital affair and confronted her on that fateful day.
The two started arguing and Antonyo threatened to beat up his wife.
In the heat of the moment, Chisanzu picked up a brick and used it to hit the now deceased on the back of the head before arming herself with a kitchen knife, which she used to stab him in the chest once.
Antonyo bled profusely, resulting in his instant death at the scene.
In an independent case, ZRP Plumtree recorded a murder case on Sunday in which the body of an adult male, 23, was found at Dingumuzi shopping center along Plumtree-Empandeni Road.
The deceased was lying face up with a laceration on the left side of his chest.
