Controversial police chief resigns, Jerry Falwell Jr. scandal saga, professional discusses “monetary infidelity”

The story was about a city that raked in money while nailing just about every single traffic violation it could think of — which was roughly half the city’s budget.

The Brookside, Alabama police chief has resigned.

According to an al.com investigation, Mike Jones has been accused of building a police empire in this tiny town.

The Jones Police Department is currently facing at least five lawsuits accusing officers of harassment, racist language, fabricated charges and even “making up laws.”

On Tuesday, officials in the small town of about 1,200 released the following statement:

“This will confirm that Mike Jones resigned as Brookside City Police Commissioner earlier today. As this is a personnel matter, the city has no further comment.”
