Ahmedabad: A 22-year-old man from Danilimda district on Sunday killed his wife by slashing her open several times after a feud over an extramarital affair.
The Danilimda Police Investigator said the woman, Samreen Pathan, 20, married the defendant Aamir Pathan, 22, about two years ago. Both stayed in Shah-e-Alamnagar near the Bombay Hotel in Danilimda.
Around 2pm on Sunday, neighbors heard the screams of a woman and they rushed to the Pathans’ home. They saw Aamir flee the house. When they entered the house, they found Samreen lying in a pool of blood.
The locals called their family members and the emergency number 108. She was taken to LG Hospital in the Maninagar area, where she was pronounced dead.
The woman sustained multiple wounds on her wrists, thighs and knees. Her family members told the police officers that Aamir used to fight with Samreen. He suspected she was having an affair with another man. Also on Sunday he caught an argument with her and cut her down several times.
Danilimda Police have filed a murder report against Aamir who is on the run.
