Ben Affleck and Ana de Armas Navigate Intercourse, Infidelity and Homicide in New ‘Deep Water’ Trailer (Video)

The official trailer of the new psychological thriller Deep Water is here, in which Ben Affleck and Ana de Armas play a married couple with serious problems.

Based on Patricia Highsmith’s novel of the same name, the 20th Century Studios film is directed by Adrian Lyne, who directed Indecent Proposal, Fatal Attraction and 9 1/2 Weeks. Affleck plays Vic, a husband increasingly troubled by his wife’s open aprons, while de Armas plays Vic’s flirtatious and wily wife, Melinda. Things take a bloody turn at a party when a dead body appears in the pool.

The film features a screenplay by Zach Helm (Stranger Than Fiction) and Euphoria creator Sam Levinson.

“Deep Water” was a bit in limbo after Disney acquired 20th Century Fox, as the film was filmed back in 2019 and its serious R-rated nature doesn’t exactly befit a streaming service like Disney+. While originally planning to hit theaters in 2020 and then 2021, Disney decided to skip a theatrical route altogether — it will now release exclusively on Hulu on March 18, 2022.

The ensemble cast also includes Tracy Letts, Rachel Blanchard, Lil Rel Howery, Finn Wittrock, Jacob Elordi, Dash Mihok, Kristen Connolly, Michael Braun, Jade Fernandez, Grace Jenkins, Brendan C. Miller, Devyn Tyler and Jeff Pope. The film is produced by Arnon Milchan, Guymon Casady, Benjamin Forkner and Anthony Katagas.
