Bududa, Uganda | THE INDEPENDENT | Residents of the Buwanabisi cell at Bududa City Council in Bududa District were shocked this morning after discovering that one of their residents had committed suicide.
The deceased was identified as Paulo Masika, a resident of Bududa City Council’s Buwanabisi Cell in Bududa District.
According to Peter Lulondo, the LCI chairman of the Buwanabisi cell, Masika took a pesticide called Rocket that took his life.
Lulondo said that before Masika drank the poison, he had a serious misunderstanding with the woman and accused her of infidelity.
He added that as local leaders, they interfered in their affairs and advised the two sides. But unfortunately, after that, Masika decided to kill herself at night.
Samuel Namanda, one of the neighbors, also said that after taking poison, Lulondo was sleeping on his father’s porch where he was found dead this morning.
Elgon Region Police spokesman Rogers Taitika has confirmed the incident and said the body was taken to Mbale town mortuary for autopsy. He urged married couples to always report their grievances to the police or local leaders, rather than taking the law into their own hands.
