Affidavit Says Evansville Firefighter Wrote Letter Describing ‘Infidelity Issues’ Before His Murder | Indiana
An affidavit released by investigators provides new details about the murder investigation into Evansville, Indiana firefighter Robert Doerr.
As recently as Thursday, police announced that Elizabeth Fox-Doerr, widow of firefighter Robert Doerr, and Larry Richmond Sr. had been charged with murder in connection with the inquest into the death of Robert Doerr.
Doerr was shot dead outside his Oakley Street home after returning from a 12-hour shift with the Evansville Fire Department, according to authorities.
The affidavit states that during a search of the couple’s Oakley Street home, investigators found a letter from Robert to his wife Elizabeth, in which “problems of infidelity” were replaced by comments such as “Since he came back into your life,” and “I see his texts on your phone.”
Before Elizabeth was charged with murder on Thursday, she was arrested and charged with perjury. The affidavit states that Elizabeth was charged with perjury for making false statements under oath.
