Woman kills 81-year-old husband for infidelity
By a correspondent – A 62-year-old woman has been arrested in Darwendale on charges of killing her husband after a misunderstanding about infidelity emerged on Sunday.
Mary Banda is said to have fought with her husband Nira Benet, 81, until he developed breathing problems.
Benet died on admission to the Father O’Hea Memorial Hospital in Kutama and a report was made to the police, leading to Banda’s arrest.
National Police spokesman Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed the incident.
“ZRP confirms the arrest of 62-year-old Mary Banda in connection with a murder that occurred on November 6 at Virginia Farm in Darwendale. The suspect fought with her husband Nira Benet after a misunderstanding over allegations of infidelity.
“The victim, who had some breathing difficulties, was taken to Father O’Hea Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival,” he said.
