Man arrested in Nolensville in reference to lacking individual case in Chattanooga

A 22-year-old man is being held in Williamson County and charged with murder following the disappearance of Chattanooga’s Jasmine Pace.

Here’s what we know about the case:

  • Jasmine Pace was first reported missing in Chattanooga, but the case devolved into a homicide based on evidence reported to WKRN.
  • Jason Chen, the prime suspect, was taken into custody in Nolensville, Nolensville Police confirmed on social media.
  • The Nolensville Police Department said: “NPD investigators spent most of Monday and Tuesday evening working with CPD investigators on the case. Jason Chen was taken into custody by members of the Chattanooga Police Department at an address in Nolensville around midnight Tuesday. NPD personnel supported the investigation until around 6 a.m. NPD officials transported Chen to the Williamson County jail until transport to Chattanooga could be arranged.”
  • Pace is confirmed as a student at the University of Tennessee Chattanooga. “The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga is actively monitoring a situation involving one of our students, Jason Chen. We are, and will continue to, work with law enforcement on this matter. Due to student privacy laws, we are unable to provide additional information,” reported News Channel 9.
  • Pace’s body was found Thursday afternoon, as confirmed by her stepfather, News Channel 9 reported. No further updates were given at this time.
  • It was reported that Pace and Chen had a relationship for a few months
  • Pace’s last known whereabouts were Chen’s apartment in Chattanooga.
