Belfast's brother believed that he was dead after he was missing in Spain to get information after a Northern Ireland rescue team had traveled to Alicante to look for dogs and a drone.
John George, also known as John Hardy, had vacation in Alicante and was last in contact with his family on December 14th.
The 37-year-old was reported missing four days later after he had missed his flight home to Northern Ireland.

His family believes that the father of two is dead.
His brother Darren is in Alicante and helps her parents Billy and Sharon as well as sisters Courtney and Caitlin as well as up to 50 friends and larger family from Northern Ireland.
Members of K9 Search and Rescue Ni, a voluntary canine sowing team, competed in the broad operation to find that Mr. George and civil servants from PSNI work with the family and the authorities in Spain.
Darren George told PA News Agency: “Many people show us about their support.
“We can also see the support from home what is fantastic, and that gives us the energy and strength to actually go forward.
“But the search queries can be very frustrating because we don't get answers in the end. It is very frustrating and we get very angry.
“Someone knows where John is. You have to give it up and he has to give the place whether it is done anonymously.
“It won't stop and we will certainly not disappear until we get John's body. We get John's body, we are here on the next flight.
“Someone has answer and we won't leave Spain without John's body.”
He added: “John had a Happy-Go-Lucky-Kerl. John would have called you at any time of the day and night.
“When we did not get the call from John within two days, we knew that something was wrong.
“He was a very good boxer when he was younger and was an all-Ireland champion. He is a normal, average guy.
“Don't get me wrong, John had his problems: John was more drug -addicted, John's life took over.”

Darren George said his two young nephew questions about her father.
“John would never have missed Christmas with his boys,” he added.
“My parents are completely broken people. My father had a heart attack and my mother had two blows. They are just two parents with a broken heart looking for their son.
“It is absolutely hateful. We are a normal family. It's torture.”
Mr. George spoke to his father on December 14th.
His family said he sounded “desperate” and was asked by his father to travel home immediately.
Darren George also spoke of his anger about what he said that “people who enjoy the suffering of his family had been published online about his brother.
He also rejected the claims that his family in Northern Ireland came under the death threats of paramilitaries.
Members of the K9 team traveled back to Northern Ireland after a five-day search in the Alicante region.
Seven search technicians and their Labrador Retriever Rocko had participated in the operation.
Team member Gabriel Walker said they were accompanied by a Portuguese-based search and rescue team, including their dog Lobo.
Mr. Walker said there was a large amount of planning and preparation before your search.
“The search area was a mixture of rural and urban areas, and that included Sprubland, forestry, gorges and water,” said Walker.
“These were all searched by our search technicians on foot as well as the two dogs and the drone. In the heat, this was looking for dusk to dawn in these four days.
“Searches for missing person are bread and butter. Therefore, we used exactly the same approach and the same skills that we would seek for the missing person we visit on site, but this was in a brand new climate that was new for all of us.
“That was with its own challenges. The heat was definitely one. We are not used to working in this type of heat, and it was very stressful for us, especially on the dogs.
“It's a different kind of terrain, but we only excluded our training and it served us really well.”
He added: “The fact that we were able to bring a professional, specialized search function to expand the search for John brings the family an additional security and that everything is done to find John.”
“The family and friends were sometimes on the floor and sometimes searched for shoulder.
“It was really astonishing to have such a strong support from the Northern Irish community that flew to Alicante.
“We were totally from the support we and John's family received.”
A PSNI spokesman said: “After a report to the police service in Northern Ireland on Wednesday, December 18, that a 37-year-old man from Belfast, the vacation in Spain, was missing.
“At this point, committed liaison officers from the family were appointed to support the family.
“While the investigation has to be promoted by the Spanish police, the PSNI have helped the police in Spain and will help with the local inquiries they requested.
“We would ask anyone who believes that he has information that could help the Spanish investigation team contact us under 101.”
Guardia Civil was contacted for a comment.
