Deepika Padukone thinks emotional infidelity is much worse than ‘physical infidelity’
Deepika Padukone opened up about physical and emotional infidelity and whether she thinks “cheating is still a big deal” in her recent interview.
While appearing on the show We Are Yuvaa, the actress was asked, “Is cheating even a big deal anymore?”
Deepika responded that while she doesn’t support physical infidelity, she thinks “emotional infidelity” is much worse.
She said: “It’s something that I personally don’t advocate. But other than that, I don’t think I’m someone to judge someone else’s relationship, whether it happened or not, or whether they’re okay with it or not.
“Relationships are really based on connection and when you’ve lost that connection to yourself then there is no more relationship,” said the Padmaavat star.
The main theme of the 36-year-old actress’ latest film Gehraiyaan was “Infidelity,” in which she played the role of a woman who was having an affair with her cousin’s husband.
“Sometimes physical attraction is still maybe a kind of temporary thing. I think as long as you have respect for the other person, I think that’s really important. I mean, monogamy, physical attraction, sure it’s one thing, but I’d be far more disappointed if there was emotional infidelity,” she added.
“Not to say that physical infidelity is okay, but emotional infidelity is far more hurtful than anything else,” the actress concluded.
Deepika is set to star alongside Shahrukh Khan in the upcoming film Pathan, which is slated for release in 2022.
