EXCLUSIVE! Speaking about her character Kavya in Star Plus’ Anupamaa, Madalsa Sharma says, “I do not assist infidelity per se, however Vanraj and Kavya each had a spot of their respective lives.”

MUMBAI: Anupamaa is one of the most popular shows on the small screens. The show’s TRP had disappeared from the charts since the show began. The story and the cast are very loved by the audience.

Madalsa Sharma plays the character of Kavya Shah in the series. The character started out with a gray hue but had its own graphics and journey and is positive now.

She is loved as Kavya and fans adore her. She is widely praised for her performance on the show.

Madalsa Sharma made her acting debut in the 2009 Telugu film Fitting Master. After that she made various South Indian films. Her first Bollywood film was Angel in 2011. Later in 2014 she released her second Hindi film Samrat & Co. In 2020 she made her television debut by portraying Kavya Shah in Anupamaa by Star Plus. In December 2021, Chakraborty made her digital debut with a music video.

Tellychakkar recently got in touch with the actress and got some interesting insights.

You started as a negative character on the show and now Kavya has completely transformed into this positive caring person. What do you have to say about the graphics or your character’s journey on the show so far?

“I never view Kavya’s character in Anupama as negative. May find it negative in traditional minds or if I may say regressive thinking, but in today’s life Kavya is an educated, modern, ambitious woman but a victim of circumstances. So she acts the way she does. So when circumstances change, her character changes too.”

You started Vanraj’s extramarital affair. How did you feel playing such a role? what do you think about infidelity

“I don’t support infidelity per se. But Vanraj and Kavya both had a void in their respective lives and they filled each other’s. This is one of the very common realities today. So the viewers accepted it. They all love Kavya like Vanraj.”

How different or similar is Madalsa from Kavya?

“Kavya is a character created by the writers’ imagination, and Madalasa is a living human. I have my own upbringing, experience and aspirations. But yes, I am modern, independent and like-minded as Kavya.”
