Gaolbyrd explores the hazards of excessive ranges of infidelity

Gaolbyrd the alter ego of New secret weapon Frontman David Griffin has shared “High Infidelity,” which signals the start of a new musical chapter from Dublin’s steadfast underground music scene.

“This track was written in wild times, and it was written from the perspective of a friend who was badly burned. The lyrics are crass and childish, but that’s the way it was back then, so forgive me if I offend you. I’m pulling the poetic license card here,” Griffin explains of the track’s background, which he describes as “a playful excursion outside of the usual pop format with some wide dynamics and a nice groove in 5 with the odd beat of 6 throwing in for a good one measure.”

“This is the beginning of my journey of liberation,” adds Griffin, who promises “untold joys of tune and video” to follow this winter. Fans of New Secret Weapon needn’t worry, as Griffin promises plenty of things to come on that front as well. High Infidelity is available now from Bandcamp.
