Pop star Shakira and Barcelona defender Gerard Pique split last week after 11 years of dating.

The Barcelona defender and the Barranquilla singer have been hailed as one of the strongest couples in the entertainment world. Although the couple was not married, fans dreamed of seeing them together for much longer. And now rumors are piling up as to the reasons why the couple decided to go their separate ways.

It’s also been reported that Shakira may have photos of Pique with the woman he allegedly cheated on. However, the odds of these alleged images are unlikely to become apparent as the singer paid for them and for her privacy.

These new details surfaced a few days after it was revealed the footballer had met his ‘special friend’ multiple times since they first met. Journalists Laura Fa and Lorena Vazquez, who first revealed the love scandal, claimed that La Traviesa, a famous Barcelona nightclub, was allegedly where Pique and the woman met.

Fa and Vazquez also claimed that Pique’s alleged new girlfriend’s name begins with the letter C. “She has very defined cheekbones,” Fa claims, describing the physique of Pique’s seemingly new partner. “She has a very distinctive face, she’s not one of those doll-faced girls. She’s very childish when she’s wearing a basic t-shirt, but when she’s dressed she’s very glamorous.”

The Spanish media have singled out another woman as a possible reason for Shakira and Pique’s split, it would be Riqui Puig’s girlfriend. “She’s a friend of Riqui Puig’s girlfriend [Gemma Iglesias]who we believe was the one who introduced them,” says El Periodico.

In May, Shakira made two trips to Ibiza, with her children Milan and Sasha and a boyfriend but without Pique, who was injured and unavailable for his club Barcelona. The 45-year-old Colombian singer met the Barcelona defender while promoting her 2010 World Cup anthem, ‘Waka Waka (This Time for Africa)’. While Shakira is one of the world’s leading musicians with her songs and live performances, Pique is one of the best defenders in European football.
