But shortly after the birth of their youngest daughter, the couple gave up, only to get back together briefly. They had hoped to reconcile, but Shaunie eventually filed for divorce in 2009 and ended their longstanding relationship in 2011. What followed was a very public and chaotic breakup. Fortunately for the kids, the parents got their way and have kept a friendly equation ever since.
A few years later Shaq published his book, Shaq Uncut: My Story, which dealt with the divorce rumors. Most believed that infidelity broke the couple apart. “I was a guy with too many options. The decision to be with some of these women is my own. In my mind, I’ve never been disrespectful, but of course I shouldn’t have done everything, “he wrote in his autobiography.

Although the details of her divorce settlement were never mentioned, there were reports that Shaq paid $ 20,000 a month in child support and child support. However, by signing a marriage agreement, the former NBA star was able to protect most of his fortune.
But Shaunie apparently tried to bend the rules a bit, we hear. A Clutchpoints report said the ex-wife moved to California to file for divorce because the law in that state is different and allows a couple with a prenup to distribute their wealth evenly. Fortunately for Shaq, the court ruled that the State of Florida should proceed with the couple’s legal affairs.
This cannot be confirmed as none of the parties involved has ever spoken openly or addressed the chatter about their divorce settlement or pre-settlement. See Shaunie return for Season 9 of Basketball Wives. The VH1 show will premiere on Tuesday, February 9th. Please see your local listings for more information.
