Thiruvananthapuram:
A man is said to have killed his 25-year-old wife by hitting her on the head with a lamp in the early hours of Tuesday in southern Kerala.
The incident was reported from Varkala in Thiruvananthapuram district, police said.
Aneesh, 35, who married two months ago, is said to have hit his wife in the head with a heavy metal bell lamp around 2.30am on Tuesday.
She was taken to a neighborhood hospital but could not be rescued, they said.
The couple, who left for a job in a Gulf country immediately after getting married, returned to the state a few days ago for the accused’s treatment.
The man suspected his wife’s character, which is why he allegedly attacked her and led to her death, they said.
The husband was arrested and charged with murder (IPC Section 302).
