Man, 31, kills 15-year-old ‘spouse’ over infidelity allegations – Pindula News

A 15-year-old girl from Gwanda was allegedly murdered by her 31-year-old husband who accused her of infidelity.

The now deceased minor Silindokuhle Sibanda stayed with her husband Thandazani Ncube at his parents’ homestead in the Singukwe area.

It is alleged Ncube attacked the teenager in the middle of the night as they were walking home after attending a party on November 5, 2022.

After the attack, Ncube carried the girl home in a wheelbarrow and laid her on her bed.

The minor was found dead the next morning.

Ncube was indicted and charged with murder before Gwanda Magistrate Polite Ncube Banda on Monday. He was held in custody until November 21.

Prosecutor Ngonidzashe Shumba said Ncube attacked Silindokuhle around 11pm on November 5 and the minor succumbed to his head injuries the following day. Said Schumba:

At around 11pm on 5 November, Thandazani hit Ncube Silindokuhle Sibanda on the back of the head after a confrontation with an unknown object. Ncube accused the girl of infidelity.

Silindokuhle succumbed to his head injuries around 4 a.m. the following day.

Previously, Ncube’s mother, Sibongile Ncube, had told him timeline that her son and Silindokuhle had gone to a party at a nearby homestead.

She said in the middle of the night she heard the sound of a wheelbarrow being pushed out of the yard.

Ncube said a few minutes later her son rushed over and told her his wife had a headache.

She said she went back to sleep assuming Silndokuhle would be fine in the morning as it was just a headache.

However, when Ncube checked on Silindokuhle the next morning, she found the girl lying on her bed, which was covered in blood-soaked blankets. She said:

My son was also there in the same room and he told me that he was trying to discipline her because she cheated on him with another man.

When I checked Silindohle, I found that she was already dead.

Ncube said she immediately alerted neighbors who came to the homestead and community members arrested Thandazani and escorted him to a police base in Stanmore, leading to his arrest.
