The alleged victim and her husband told officers that someone came to their home in Oklahoma Township in a brown vehicle and walked behind their SUV. Investigators said that person was 58-year-old Rössler.

The victim already had a PFA on Roessler, who wasn’t there long but long enough to leave something behind, investigators said.

The woman later told police that she had received notifications on her phone that she was being tracked by an Apple Air Tag. When officers investigated, they found the device, about the size of a quarter, wrapped in plastic and duct tape, attached to the hitch of the woman’s SUV.

Once they found the device, officers said they used his identification number to find out who activated it and led them straight to Roessler.
