A 35-year-old man from Somabula was arrested for fatally assaulting his wife with a crop and accusing her of having an extramarital affair with a local herd boy.

Police said suspect Blessing Dhlangisa from Somabula commune on the outskirts of Gweru spotted some suspicious messages on the phone of his wife Violet Dube, 27, which led to a confrontation.
“A misunderstanding arose between them and the suspect Dhlangisa started hitting Violet with some rods, which resulted in her death. The matter was reported to the police, leading to Dhlangisa’s arrest.
