Lucknow: A man suspecting infidelity choked his wife and turned himself in to Mohanlalganj police station on Wednesday.
Qasim Abidi, ADCP, East Zone, said that the deceased, Sarita, and her husband Krishna had been living apart for the past six months. Her children Kartikeya (7) and Laxmi (4) lived with Krishna in Mohanlalganj while Sarita lived in Kalli Paschim Bazaar under SGPGI Police Station. Every week Krishna and the children visited Sarita’s abode. On Tuesday night after the children went to bed, Krishna started an argument with his wife and in a fit of rage smothered her with a pillow, Abidi said.
He later went to Mohanlalganj Police Station and confessed to the crime and explained that Sarita was having an affair. The police reached Sarita’s apartment to find her body. The accused was arrested for murder.
