UP: Man kills woman, hangs himself and suspects infidelity

Noida (UP), Feb. 18 (PTI) A 35-year-old woman was allegedly strangled by her 40-year-old husband, who then hanged himself to death in her home in a village here, police said Thursday.
The incident came over a domestic dispute between the couple, despite officials said the man suspected his wife of having an illegal relationship.
“The incident was reported on Wednesday from the village of Wajidpur in Sector 135 below the boundaries of the Expressway Police Station,” said Noida, additional deputy police commissioner Ranvijay Singh.
“The couple had a domestic argument. The woman’s body had traces of strangulation on the neck, while the man’s body was found suspended from a fan,” said Singh.
He said the couple’s 20-year-old son lived with his wife in adjacent rental accommodation.
The son and wife do not appear to have a warm relationship with his parents, the official said, adding that police are contacting the deceased’s neighbors for more information.
Another investigator into the case said the man suspected his wife of having an illegal relationship, so he took the extreme step.
The bodies were sent for autopsy and further judicial proceedings were pending, police said. PTI KIS HDA
