MCSO: Man beforehand reported lacking discovered lifeless within the New River desert Arizona Information
NEW RIVER, AZ (3TV / CBS 5) – The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office confirmed Monday that a man who was reported missing and whose car was found burned was found dead.
MPs say a body was found on Friday near Table Mesa Road just west of Interstate 17 in New River. On Monday, MPs confirmed that the body was Benjamin Anderson. The case is treated as a homicide.
Family members say Benjamin Anderson was last seen on the morning of December 31st. His car was found burned the next morning near Interstate 17 and Dunlap Avenue.
The search for Anderson began after friends went to his apartment Friday night but couldn’t find him at home. Friends say Anderson took his keys, phone, and car, but left all of his money and credit cards.
Anderson’s family then filed a missing person report and reached out to Lexus to see if they could track Anderson’s car. Friends say the car was tracked when it left a motel off Interstate 17 and Dunlap Avenue, so they started searching the area. Friends say they came across Anderson’s Lexus at another hotel in the area with three people standing around the car. Then they called the police and when they returned the three people were gone in their car. Officials said they found the limo burned out in the same area the next morning.
The police did not provide any information about possible suspects. The investigation continues.
