A Jos Upper Area Court 3 in Kasuwan Nama, Plateau State, has dissolved a six-year marriage between a woman, Pateince Sunday, and her husband, Danjuma Musa, on charges of abuse.
According to the Nigerian News Agency (NAN), the judge, Suleiman Lawal, ruled that the divorce was awarded to the petitioner because, despite best efforts to reconcile the parties, the abuse and assault continued.

Lawal decided that the petitioner and the defendant would go their separate ways.
The petitioner previously informed the court that the defendant had become violent and assaulted her four years after their marriage.
“My husband left me and our children and refused to take care of us. He also accuses me of having extramarital affairs,” she said.
