Suspected of infidelity, a man in Madhya Pradesh’s Shahdol cut his wife in two and buried those parts in different places in a forest. The police arrested the man and also seized the murder weapon.

The defendant, Ram Kishore Patel, killed his wife on suspicion of infidelity.

By Santosh Kumar Sharma, Ravish Pal Singh: In an incident similar to that Murder of Shraddha Walkar in Delhiwhere the accused strangled his partner, hacked it into 35 pieces and then dumped those pieces in different places in Mehrauli forest, in Madhya Pradesh’s Shahdol a man cut his wife in two and buried those pieces in different places in a forest.

The deceased was identified as Saraswati Patel and her husband, the defendant, as Ram Kishore Patel. The accused is said to have killed his wife with an ax on suspicion of infidelity.

The incident came to light when a man filed a missing person report on November 13 about his brother and sister-in-law. The police registered a case and initiated the investigation. Then, on November 15, the police received information that a woman’s clothes had been found in the forest near the village.

After further investigation, the police determined that the clothes belonged to the missing woman. A search was launched in the forest and a buried head was found at one point. A torso was also found some distance from this location. The body parts were from missing Mrs. Saraswati.

A case of murder was registered in Kareli district of Narsinghpur, MP and the accused arrested.

According to Police (SP) Superintendent Kumar Prateek, “The defendant admitted to the crime. In the statement to police, he said he doubted his wife’s character, so he took her into the forest and beheaded her with an axe. He then buried his head and torso separately. Police also confiscated the ax used in the murder.”
