TEXAS – – Many of the cases of missing persons who reported Fox 7 Austin about teams of volunteers help families to look for their relatives.
“Search and rescue in San Antonio Texas” is one of these groups.
Nina Glass, who studied criminal justice at school, founded the non -profit organization four years ago.
“I wanted to use my school and training to do something for my community because I have been more and more voluntary in the community,” she said.
There can be dozens of volunteers in a search and they helped with over 30 cases in the whole state. Here are some:
“We start with a simple radius, we start with 1.2 miles, three miles, five miles, seven miles, 10 miles,” said Glass. “We just work outside. As soon as we have covered everything in this radius, we will go to the next radius and the next radius set.”

Glass says that families often turn them to them.
“The only thing I need from the family is that they are honest with the jump to me. I have to know something and all the information about their missing loved one. I don't care whether they are addicted. I don't care if they are a street walker or if they are a doctor,” she said. “I would like to know the circumstances. In the week before the missing person in which this person was missing, we can get an idea of their way of thinking and different things like this.”
She hopes that her work can bring families a step closer to answers.
“This is just something I felt in my heart that had to be done for my community. I just started and I did that,” she said.
