Star Plus show Anupamaa recently had one of the most shocking tracks revealing Toshu’s one night stand. Paritosh continued to justify himself. He even went so far as to kidnap his own daughter, Aarya. After being struck by the realization, Toshu entered a wellness center to rehabilitate himself. With this twist, the creators have given actor Aashish Mehrotra a short break and now, after missing episodes for a few days, Ashish is back in action.

India Forums got in touch with Aashish and asked him about his break. He said: “Well I guess it was a much needed break. I hadn’t taken much time off in the last two and a half years and wanted to spend some quality time with my family and myself. That aside the previous track was pretty heavy, it took a toll on me and I really needed some time off to look inside and think about a few things and now that I’m back on the sets of ‘Anupamaa’, I feel very refreshed and have great positive energy.”

When asked about the infidelity track, Aashish said, “I was very unsure about doing those scenes. I hadn’t been informed about the track for a long time, so I wasn’t prepared for it, nor did I expect it. I was briefed on the track in the morning and had to do those scenes myself that day. I was in a bind and had a lot of confusing thoughts, but then I had people like Master Blaster producer Mr. Rajan Shahi, creative director of the show Ketaki and the amazing writing team with me, and I wanted to believe in the belief of the team and performed the scene accordingly. I have to say I always love the range of emotions a character can play and I was so lucky to have the opportunity to play such hard hitting scenes. I was skeptical about how the audience would take the track and to my pleasant surprise people gave my performance a lot of praise. I feel very blessed to be a part of this show and I am very grateful to viewers for always complimenting my work.”

When asked about his character diagram in the upcoming episodes, Aashish said, “To be honest I really don’t know… as things happen too fast in ‘Anupama’ and the challenging part is you knowing when you’re going to have it ahead of time are supposed to deliver… so what Toshu is going to do is a bit of a surprise but yes he will surely meet his love Kinjal and try to get her and Pari back into his life. Let’s see where this journey of love-virtue takes him”.
