Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott have seen many ups and downs in their relationship. However, the couple’s journey became even more rocky when their children exposed the infidelity scandals.

Being one of the world’s most famous stars doesn’t get you out of marital problems, and Tori Spelling learned that the hard way. In fact, the Beverly Hills, 90210 star revealed that one of her greatest fears was infidelity in their marriage.

Unfortunately, Spelling’s fears materialized in 2013 when her husband, Dean McDermott, betrayed her. In addition, the mother of five had to deal with the fact that her children found out about the infidelity online.

The relationship between Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott has been a topic of conversation since they got together. McDermott famously stepped out on ex-wife Mary Jo Eustace while working with Spelling on Mind Over Murder.

Though Spelling ended up at McDermott, the way they started their relationship created uncertainty. The actress and writer expressed that she was constantly worried that her husband would leave her for someone better.

Even so, Spelling and McDermott married in 2006 and raised a family of five children in addition to McDermott’s two children from his previous marriage. However, things changed for the couple a few years into their marriage.

After tons of infidelity rumors surrounding the couple, the December 2013 releases finally had a story to post. Reports revealed McDermott for cheating on his wife with a then 28-year-old named Emily.

McDermott met Emily while out and about with friends on a promotional tour for his hosting gig on Chopped Canada. The couple allegedly flirted while their friends didn’t know, resulting in hotel room keys being exchanged.

Emily told Daily Mail that McDermott made her feel comfortable and insisted that they use protection during the encounter. She also revealed that the actor raved about his wife despite claiming their marriage was sexless.

It seems like McDermott already regretted it the second time he and Emily met because she says nothing happened then. Instead, he bragged about his sextape with Spelling and presented pictures of his children.

Unfortunately, McDermott’s conscience reacted too little too late when news of his connection surfaced in the press. Struggling with her worst nightmare, Spelling admitted she didn’t know what to do at the time.

The actress had spent her entire life in public, so she got on with the news as well as she knew it. She had the producers document the aftermath of the infidelity news on her reality TV show with her family.

Although Spelling struggled with her worst fear, she and her husband managed to save their relationship. McDermott went into rehab and openly worked with Spelling as he discussed his mistakes on their show.

Even though the cheating scandal resulted in a sour Christmas and upset children, the couple coped well with everything. In fact, both McDermott and Spelling are now comfortable talking about this time in their interviews.

McDermott recently revealed that his infidelity had nothing to do with spelling, but instead resulted from his insecurities. Spelling also said she isn’t afraid to bring the incident up for discussion if necessary.

A recent interview by Spelling also revealed how the couple climbed their hurdle. The actress presented that she and McDermott had to start over as a couple in order to forgive and move on fully.

As for Spelling and McDermott’s eldest daughter, who learns of the disturbing news online, parents appear to be informed. The spelling revealed that the scandal opened channels of communication that were helpful to the whole family.
