Celebrity relationships aren’t easy to nurture, especially when it comes to infidelity and public perception to worry about. In the case of DJ Envy and his longtime wife, Gia Casey, Envy had to do everything in his power to convince Casey to give him a second chance. Casey eventually forgave him, but one of the hardest things she had to overcome was not realizing that Envy was unfaithful to begin with.

Gia Casey says keeping a private life and not being on social media is one of the reasons she never suspected her husband of cheating
Envy and Casey married straight out of college and have been together since they were 16 and 15 years old. Casey says Envy was so invested in her that she never suspected him of cheating. She got a clue when she came across a comment on a blog that led her to confront her husband with fake evidence that she knew he had been unfaithful. That day he confessed.

<p>But in a recent appearance on Angela Yee’s Lip Service podcast, she explained that she wasn’t engaging with her husband’s social life because she wasn’t on social media. Per Casey:</p>
<p>I was not intentionally private and I am not a private person [to the degree that it appeared back then]. I’m the kind of person that I will share everything because I feel like when you share your life with people… it creates a sense of community… But I never really got into social media at that time… until now, I have never opened a facebook page. I don’t even know what the Facebook home page looks like and I’ve never been on Twitter or tweeted. My daughter put me on Instagram…meanwhile Rashaun [Envy] was on twitter, was on instagram…all the evidence and stuff there. Had I known how to use it [I may have found out earlier]. I was just clueless. </p>
<h2><strong>DJ Envy previously said that because Gia Casey is not affiliated with the entertainment industry, it’s easy for him to get away with cheating</strong></h2>
<p>Casey immediately started getting things to get divorced from Envy. But a divorce wasn’t what the breakfast club host wanted, and he tried his best to persuade Gia to stay. Gia admits it was a difficult proposition, especially since she always vowed to leave if she was ever disrespected for being unfaithful. It was also hard for her to come to terms with him without considering the consequences before he decided to be unfaithful.</p>

Gia Casey says DJ Envy deliberately tried to keep her away from the industry or anyone associated with him to avoid embarrassing him
The mother-of-six says her husband went to great lengths to keep her in her suburbs and away from the hustle and bustle of the entertainment industry. So much so, that every time Envy became friends with someone in the industry, she tried to keep her away from them.
“I had met this older woman, and she was in the industry, and she had managed some people, we had daughters the same age … and we started hanging out when our girls went to camp together … and every week he would find a reason for.” me not to hang out with her,” she told podcast hosts. “I think he felt like she would be the potential for me to get closer to the truth of what he was doing.”
Casey and Envy’s new book, Real Life, Real Love: Life Lessons on Joy, Pain & the Magic That Holds Us Together, is available everywhere books and e-books are sold. They hope their book will be a blueprint for other couples to get through difficult times.
