The Try Guys are a group of four guys (Ned Fulmer, Keith Habersberger, Zach Kornfeld, and Eugene Lee Yang) who, as you’d expect, are trying things out and filming for their hugely successful YouTube channel. While starting out at BuzzFeed, they’ve since launched their own channel with more than 7.83 million subscribers, started a podcast, and landed a TV show on the Food Network. And many of their fans and viewers are left utterly intrigued by an explosion of infidelity rumors involving one of the Try Guys, who is already being compared to John Mulaney.
On Monday night, a now-deleted post on the Try Guys subreddit (but reused in a Twitter thread from the @nedfulmerexpose account) claimed that Fulmer cheated on his wife Ariel (who has appeared in several videos over the years and is known for the viewers) with an associate producer from Try Guys. The evidence shared on Reddit included a blurry video of someone alleged to be Fulmer making out with the associate producer, DMs reportedly from the producer’s fiancé, and Fulmer’s missing appearances in recent Try Guys videos — including the introduction in Try Guys episodes – as well as her podcast, The TryPod. The body of circumstantial evidence also includes analysis of which parties unfollowed which parties, as well as Ariel Fulmer’s removal of the phrase “Ned’s wife” from her Instagram profile.
On Tuesday afternoon, the Try Guys announced on social media that Ned Fulmer “is no longer working with the Try Guys” after conducting an “internal review.”
“We thank you for your support in managing this change,” the post concluded.
Fulmer has restricted who can comment on his Instagram posts, while Ariel Fulmer has completely removed the ability for people to leave comments.
Update Sep 27 2:25pm CT: In a social media post, Ned Fulmer wrote: “Family should have been my priority but I lost focus and had a consensual relationship at work. I’m sorry for any pain my actions have caused the boys and the fans, but most of all Ariel. The only things that matter right now are my marriage and my kids and that’s what I’m going to focus on.”
Ariel captioned her own post on Instagram: “Nothing is more important to me than Ned and our family and all we ask now is that you respect our privacy for the sake of our children.”
The news took Try Guys fans by storm.
Part of Fulmer’s public role with the Try Guys is that he’s a total wifey type, someone who has been known to praise Ariel Fulmer or mention her in his videos. For the people who have been watching Fulmer and developing a parasocial relationship with him for nearly a decade, even the rumors of his infidelity feel like a betrayal.

As far as famous men go, their infidelities, it’s a situation that’s a lot closer to John Mulaney – who made his ex-wife a big part of his standup routine – than Adam Levine. This is a comparison that many have also made.

And of course people made memes, some of which aimed at the low-hanging fruit joke.
But the other aspect of the infidelity rumors has grabbed people just as much. Some fans tried to imagine how the other Try Guys reacted to this, while others are just as enthralled by the conspiracy that Fulmer was left out or even cut out of recent videos.
