An official, Bolaji Gomih from the Asa Local Government Area of Kwara, has filed for custody of his daughter after three years of divorce.
The presiding judge, AbdulQadir Umar, said Gomih requested custody of his daughter to give her a good education and attention.
The applicant (Gomih) informed the court that he sometimes married his former wife, Falilat Ayinke, in 2014, but she left his home in 2018.
He said the woman formally divorced him in 2019 in the Upper Area Court, Oloje, Ilorin and was given custody of their daughter.
Gomih said that the former wife married another man and moved to a village in Kishi, Oyo state, and her daughter’s education was affected due to the lack of a good school.
He therefore prayed for custody of the child to enable him to properly attend to her studies and take full responsibility for her.
The court adjourned the case for cross-examination and defense until October 26.
Likewise, the court ordered that the case should be served on the defendant.
