Mary J. Blige doesn’t like the idea of ​​men receiving alimony

Mary J. Blige believes men who receive child support are “crazy,” especially since she went through it with her ex-husband, Kendu Issacs.

During the Earn Your Leisure podcast, the singer opened up about her financial struggles as well as her divorce from Issacs. “I will never again allow anyone to have that much power over my life, my finances or my life,” she said.

She went on to talk about getting into financial trouble after being ordered to pay her ex $30,000 a month in spousal support.

“I was in so much debt that I never thought I would ever get out of debt. I’m out of debt now.” Blige added, “Now I have the wisdom, now I look at my payslip…that’s not my money.” My taxes aren’t my money. My taxes aren’t my money, so I say, “Pay my paycheck, pay my taxes, pay my tithing.” I don’t want to see all that money because it doesn’t belong to me,” she said.

Blige went on to talk about men being paid alimony, saying, “It’s so crazy that men can attack you and ask for alimony.” When I got divorced, I thought, “Are you trying to tell me that I have to pay him?!” And he cheated and lied.”
