After losing custody of her three children to her ex-husband Josh Homme, Brody Dalle has released a statement telling her side of the story.
In 2021, Homme was served a domestic violence restraining order on behalf of his two sons. However, Dalle was later sentenced to community service and fined $1,000 for preventing her youngest child from seeing his father. Last year, family court gave Homme sole custody of their three children after Dalle broke the custody agreement.
In a statement released earlier this year, Homme’s attorneys, speaking on behalf of the “Queens of the Stone Age” singer, said: “In March 2022, the Los Angeles Family Court awarded Joshua Homme sole custody of all three children and they are currently in custody .” of her father and her paternal grandparents. Dalle, meanwhile, was allowed to visit her youngest child under supervision. Joshua Homme will remain the sole legal guardian of all minor children until a custody hearing in fall 2023. Los Angeles Family Court will then determine a more permanent solution.”

It continued, “The recent actions of Brody Dalle and Gunner Foxx have not only caused the children emotional damage, but have also placed them in grave danger.” As a result of these actions, the Los Angeles Family Court ordered a permanent restraining order on March 16, 2023 injunction against Brody Dalle for a period of 1 year and 11 months. This domestic violence injunction was issued for the protection of (and on behalf of) the Homme family, including Joshua, his three children, and Joshua’s parents, Michael and Irene Homme.”
Homme’s statement also said, “The recent actions of Brody Dalle and Gunner Foxx have not only caused the children emotional damage, but have also placed them in grave danger.”
Speaking on Instagram Stories, Dalle – who split from Homme in 2019 – said: “In February 2022, after an eight-day trial, I was granted a three-year domestic violence restraining order. You didn’t hear about it because I didn’t go to the press, I didn’t flaunt it, and I didn’t blow it on some triumphant horn…because it was bloody terrifying and devastating.”
She continued, “Three weeks later, they took one of my children away. A month later, under temporary camouflage, they took my other two away. A textbook for a T. They built an Everest of lies with no evidence…why?? … Why should they do this??? Because money, greed, corruption and winning at any price are the be-all and end-all.”
Dalle also said that “PR and the smoke and mirrors” played a role in her losing custody of her children. The Distillers founder claimed, “My story isn’t unique and it’s not uncommon, it happens to protective mothers (and some protective fathers) everywhere.” We are thousands. hundreds of thousands of us. Children are security. Everyday Safeguards. What they suffer will make your hair stand on end. Many caring parents have lost their children forever in terrible and incomprehensible ways.”
She later returned to Instagram and wrote, “I’m not a criminal. Despite my credibility as a punk rocker, I’ve never been arrested. A few speeding tickets, hit once by a cop when I was 12, but otherwise nothing. It’s punishment for reporting what they said and trying to protect them. I tried to shut it down for a year and a half until they refused to go. witnessed. begged. pleaded. sobbed. What would you do? Everything, [sic] all i bet I’m fucking broken That shattered me into a thousand pieces.”
The musician added: “I couldn’t get out of bed for a long time. I thought about what the point of moving on was. I’ve been filled with so much pain and fear for so long. Fear of making that split-second mistake, where there is no going back. Nobody can maintain this state. Nobody ever should. i let it go I published it. I have found the ladder of light. Get up and fight for your life. For her. Always.”
While voicing her side of the story on social media, Dalle urged the public to stop discussing her private life, continuing, “If you’ve never been held in the heart-pounding, vice from hell of family court, and if you have I have never been charged with the debunked, insane, and extremely dangerous allegation of parental alienation, and without any evidence because there was none. Please shut up, you have no idea.”
Homme has yet to respond to Dalle’s comments.
