Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas attend mediation of their divorce and custody cases

Sophie Turner And Joe Jonas will go to court again Custody of her two young daughters A Manhattan judge ruled early next year.

On Tuesday, a judge set a trial date for January 2, 2024 during the hearing in federal court ongoing court battle about the custody and living situation of their children Willa (3) and Delphine (1). Turner, 27, appeared virtually at the hearing in New York, while Jonas, 34, didn’t show up at all.

Turner’s lawyers argued for a trial date as soon as possible, telling the judge that the actress had “work obligations in the UK” from January and wanted to resolve the custody issue by then. They requested a two-day trial on behalf of Turner, who ET previously learned lives in a New York City apartment borrowed from Taylor Swift. The singer was spotted with Turner several times since her separation from Jonas.

Jonas’ lawyers pushed the judge for a later trial date, arguing that the pop star’s last U.S. tour date is December 9th and that the estranged couple has an in-person divorce hearing on December 14th.

His lawyers said they expect the custody case to take at least four days because they will have to call several witnesses.

The judge noted that Turner and Jonas will attend mediation over their divorce and custody at the same time and ruled that the couple will meet in the new year for custody proceedings.

A source tells ET that Turner took her virtual court hearing from Swift’s home in Tribeca and went there with a friend after the session. The two were driven to the Four Seasons and accompanied by Turner’s lawyers, who had previously appeared in court.
