Jeannie Mai and her estranged husband Jay “Jeezy” Jenkins struggle to remain amicable while dealing with divorce and custody.
On Tuesday, “The Real” host responded to the musician's previous claims that she was “supervising” her nearly 2-year-old daughter Monaco. In a court filing obtained by People, Mai's lawyers claimed that her reluctance to allow Jeezy time with her toddler was due to safety concerns rather than unfounded pettiness.

“It is important to make it clear that Ms Jenkins’ insistence on the introduction of appropriate security measures, such as: B. safely securing and locking away any firearms that have been unsecured in the past, as well as relying on trusted and properly trained caregivers, is absolutely not the case.” Gatekeeping, but rather a responsible effort to prioritize the well-being of your daughter.” , the file says.

Jeezy's submission in question was made in November. His lawyers said he “doesn’t believe that [Mai] acted maliciously or with specific intent to cause harm,” but he believes she “acted as a gatekeeper in this matter.” [Jeezy] Exercising parental leave [Monaco]The filing further alleged that the mother-of-one was “causing confusion and tension between the parties and working to suppress development” between Jeezy and her daughter.
Additionally, the estranged couple is arguing over a previously agreed upon custody agreement that is set to last for the remainder of the year. Jeezy's November filing included claims that the temporary visitation plan was becoming “less and less feasible.”
“The lack of consistency, continuity and stability that comes with such an arbitrary and fluid parenting schedule is stressful for the child (Monaco) and, as is unfortunately inevitable with all families in transition, creates unnecessary tension and confusion on … not only parenting time, but also with regard to the role and rights of each parent when the child is in their respective care.
In her newly filed rebuttal, Mai claimed she gave her estranged husband all the dates he wanted to see Monaco, as well as extra time to spend with their daughter during the holidays. The ongoing dispute comes after Jeezy filed for divorce in September after two years of marriage.
